Salesforce Spring ’24 Release Key Dates.
December 14: Sign up for a prerelease environment
A prerelease org is a test environment with new release features enabled, allowing you time to test and figure out which new features are right for your organization. If you already had a prerelease org for Winter ’24, you can log back into that one.
December 20: Preview release notes are available
Spring ’24 Release Notes are available. Use filters to display only the sections that relate to the edition and clouds you currently use.
January 4: Sandbox cut-off date
Use your sandbox to get early access to new features and test configurations before the scheduled production upgrade. You must have an active sandbox on a preview instance before January 4, 2023, to get the Spring ’24 preview in your sandbox. In most cases, you don’t need to do anything because your sandbox is already on a preview instance. Get all the details you need in the sandbox preview instructions article on Salesforce Help.
January 4 before 5 p.m. PT: Be sure to refresh your Sandbox
Once you’ve explored the pre-release org and reviewed the Release Notes for features that are important to you, it’s time to try out features related to your customizations in your sandbox. This is a great time to evaluate how specific features may be useful or impact the way your organization uses Salesforce.
January 5: Sandbox preview begins
Check your sandbox instance on Trust for your sandbox upgrade window. Just like the pre-release org, sandbox preview gives you the opportunity to test new features against your own customizations without affecting your live environment.
January 9: Be release ready with Spring ’24 features for admins
In Spring ’24, we’re sharing admin release highlights earlier in the release cycle than ever before! Starting on January 9th, we’ll be publishing blog posts on the Admin Blog to help you get release ready with Spring ’24 features.
January 12, February 2, February 9: Spring ’24 arrives!
Check the Maintenance Calendar for exactly when your Salesforce org will get the Spring ’24 features. Scroll through the list and check your Salesforce instance (NA__, EMEA__) against the release dates listed in the calendar. Once the release window has passed for your environment, you’ll have access to the newest features in your production environment!
