Get ready, Trailblazers Spring ’25 is almost here!
Staying updated with Salesforce Releases is a key part of every Trailblazer’s role. Three times a year, Salesforce rolls out new features and enhancements, empowering users to leverage the latest innovations on the platform. You can maximize the benefits of these releases by understanding the essentials and following best practices.
Here are the key dates to mark on your calendar for the Spring ’25 release!
December 19: Sign up for a Pre-Release org
Admins can sign up for a pre-release Developer Edition environment to explore all the Spring ’25 features at your leisure. These Developer environments are standalone, allowing you to learn, build, and familiarize yourself with new features and functionality. If you already had a pre-release org for Winter ’25, you can simply log back into the same one.
December 31: Release Notes are available
Look up the products you use in the Release Notes section of Salesforce Help to find updates specific to the Spring ’25 release. The release notes will be available starting December 31, and we’ll share the link here.
January 2 before 5 p.m. PT: Refresh your Sandbox to get access to preview instance
For each release, some sandboxes remain on the non-preview instance (the current release), while others are upgraded to the preview instance.
If your sandbox isn’t scheduled for the preview upgrade, you can take action by refreshing it before 5 p.m. Pacific Time on January 2nd to gain early access to all the Spring ’25 features. Refer to this Help Article for instructions on exactly how and when to refresh your sandbox.
January 3: Sandbox Preview begins
Verify your sandbox instance on the Salesforce Trust site to identify its upgrade window. Similar to a pre-release org, the sandbox preview allows you to test new features with your customizations without impacting your live environment.
This is also an ideal time to explore the Release Updates section in Setup. Here, you can review and activate updates designed to enhance org performance, security, business processes, and usability. Check for updates that require action, those that are approaching deadlines or overdue, as well as archived updates for reference.
